My little doggy got a lovely Christmas jumper from Santa. No, I lie, it is actually more a sweater. But it brings me on the subject of Christmas jumpers. Many fear the idea of Christmas because of this jumper ("oh my nan tends to knit all of us one.. *sigh*"), others have nothing but nostalgic feelings towards Christmas by seeing any type of jumper this season.


According to The Wall Street Journal, "the much-maligned Christmas knit is enjoying a moment of irony-infused popularity." They are not just warm to wear, they are hot in the sense need-to-have. Even shops like 


Google reports a searching increase of 30%  for 'Christmas jumpers' since last year, Ebay tells of a selling bid increase and increased sales. Various companies are promoting the jumpers through competitions, people are holding Christmas jumper themed parties, and even H&M, Bloomingdale's and Abercrombie & Fitch are incorporating these jumpers dating back from the 1980s.
