The Curve of Forgotten Things

Things slowly curve out of sight
until they are gone. Afterwards
     only the curve
     remains.
- Richard Brautigan

In the short film called “The Curve of Forgotten Things”, a title taken from Richard Brautigan’s poem, we welcome Rodarte’s spring 2011 collection. A collection inspired by 1970s northern California, referencing Redwood forests, the gold rush and Asian influences. LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s Nowness.com footed the bill for production, yet the film was produced by director-photographer Todd Cole, with a score by Deerhunter. Cole explains that it is “about this girl who exists in this strange place outside of time. She’s digging up things from the land and the past, and she offers them to the sun.”
